Valued Practices
Six key guidelines define and describe practices which determine a successful Family Resource Program (6 Valued Practices). When used together, these 6 Valued Practices create the “Best Practices”, which promote the development of healthy families.
Six Valued Practices are:
- Valued Practices in Design
- Valued Practices that Promote Engagement
- Valued Practices that Promote and Build Relationships
- Valued Practices that Promote Family Development
- Valued Practices that Strengthen Communities
- Valued Practices in Governance and Administration
FRP-BC has developed resources to assist Family Resource Programs review and improve the quality of their service delivery to families with young children.
Valued Practices Resources
- Best Practices Posters – set of 6 informational posters that highlight, promote and create awareness on the six key Valued Practices
- Working to Make a Difference: Guidelines for Best Practices in Family Resource Programs – publication to assist Family Resource Programs in providing consistent quality service
- Valued Practices Videos – series of six 5-10 minute informational and entertaining videos depicting the Valued Practices in the Family Resource Program environment.
