BC Association of Pregnancy Outreach Programs - 2010 Conference
October 13-15, 2010

The BCAPOP annual conference and general meeting will take place October 13-15 at the Hilton Vancouver Airport in Richmond. Feature presentations include “When Survivors Give Birth” by Penny Simkin, doula and author, and “Problematic Substance Use in Pregnancy” by Pregnancy-Related Issues in the Management of Addictions. Champions for Children and Youth Summit
October 18-19

BC Representative for Children & Youth. The 2010 Champions for Children and Youth Summit is a two-day conference to educate, challenge and inspire us all to prepare a better path for B.C.’s children and youth. We celebrate progress and encourage excellence in those individuals and organizations who are working intensely towards that goal.

2010 BC Alliance for Young Parents - Provincial Conference in Vancouver
October 22

The goal of this year's conference is to educate and inform participants on current topics and critical issues affecting young parents -- from sexuality and relationships, substance abuse and homelessness, to adolescent development and parenting skills.

BCACL's National Family Conference
October 22-24

Registration is now open for the 2010 National Family Conference, Families, a Journey of Generations Moving Mountains. Hosted by the BC Association for Community Living, Family Focus Society and the Canadian Association for Community Living, the conference will be held from October 22-24, 2010, at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. BC Aboriginal Child Care Society - Provincial Conference
November 18-20

BCACCS Provincial Training Conference Healthy Children, Healthy Communities – Mind, Body, Spirit will be held at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel at 1180 West Hastings Street in Vancouver.

A primary focus of the training and professional development events at BCACCS is to translate culturally rich traditions into effective early learning and child care (ELCC) programs and services. Community involvement, leadership, and support are central to the healthy, holistic development of Aboriginal children, and the conference will promote the capacity of ELCC professionals to design and deliver programs and services that are immersed in these cultures and communities.
