Conference Description

Our early relationships and experiences shape all aspects of physical and mental health, and are pivotal to who we become and how we function throughout life. We naturally strive forward. The behaviour of young children is meaningful, and understanding this concept is vital for all involved with children. This conference will stimulate dialogue, reflection, a deeper understanding of a child’s total development as rooted in their earliest relationships, and may revolutionize our approaches and practices with young children, their families, and their communities.

Cities Fit For Children Provincial Summit

Cities Fit for Children Provincial Summit: Call for Papers and Workshops
May 10 and 11, 2012 in Kamloops

The 3rd Annual Cities Fit for Children Provincial Summit is dedicated to the sustainable development of our cities and urban and rural areas. Building on the success of the first two summits in Kelowna in 2007 and Langley in 2009, we are anticipating 300 delegates from across the province. The event will bring together local, municipal, and regional leaders involved in policy decisions and designing and building safe, healthy communities for children and families.

The goals and objectives of the summit are to emphasize the role of local partnerships, strategies, and successes, including business engagement strategies, that contribute to liveable and healthy cities for children and youth. This is an opportunity to network and learn about how leaders at any level can make a difference, and highlight effective policies and practices that demonstrate visionary municipal, regional, and provincial initiatives that contribute to the health and well-being of the community.
