The Distinguished Service Awards

American Income Life has made a generous donation to fund the 2011 Distinguished Service Awards. Denise Perry, Public Relations-Marketing Specialist with American Income Life participated in the review of submissions for the Distinguished Service Awards.

These annual awards are for Family Resource Programs whose work has demonstrated adherence to Valued Practices and the 5 Core Service Areas. Two distinct awards are given:

Commitment to Quality Service - awarded to a stand-alone Family Resource Program and;
Continuum of Service - awarded to a multi-service agency delivering a Family Resource Program

Winners of each of the Distinguished Service Awards receive $1,000, a plaque and one year's free membership.

Mount Pleasant Family Centre

Located in Vancouver's Eastside, Mount Pleasant Family Centre has been in operation since 1976. They are the lead agency of Vancouver's
5 Family Place Partnership.

SHARE Family & Community Services

Located in Port Moody, SHARE serves families in the Tri-Cities through two Family Resource Program sites.

Announcements:

Jean Woodcock, Executive Director of Mount Pleasant Family Centre is retiring in January 2012.

We would like to thank Jean for all her hard work, dedication, professionalism and passion in the past 22 years that she has been involved with the Mount Pleasant Family Centre and her community liaison work.

Jean has sat on the Board of FRP-BC and was a member of the FRP Certificate Development Committee.
